Frequently Asked Questions
What is Klarlist?
Klarlist is a template and checklist management application. It helps you create reusable templates for recurring tasks and turn them into working checklists.
What's the difference between templates and checklists?
Templates are reusable blueprints (e.g., "Moving Checklist", "Weekly Review"). Checklists are working copies created from templates where you track actual progress.
How do sections work?
Sections are optional groupings for items. For example, a "Moving Checklist" template might have sections like "Kitchen", "Bedroom", and "Living Room" to organize items by location.
Can I edit templates after creating checklists from them?
Yes! Templates and checklists are independent. Editing a template won't affect existing checklists created from it. Each checklist is a standalone copy.
What are the keyboard shortcuts?
When viewing a template or checklist:
- Click on an item to edit it inline
- Tab or Enter to save and move to the next item
- Escape to cancel editing
- Arrow keys to navigate between items
Is this open source?
Klarlist is currently a learning project built with Rails 8.1, demonstrating modern Rails features like Turbo Frames, Stimulus controllers, and test-driven development.
